Founded in 1982, DOT Thermography, Inc. was designed to address the needs of you, the retail printing customer. Understanding the challenges of everything from storefront walk-ins to corporate full service accounts drove us to develop our company in a way that insures excellent quality and service to you, our customer.

DOT History
DOT Thermography, Inc. began its life as Davies Overnight Thermography. Delivering thermographed business cards overnight was a relatively new concept in the early 1980's and there was a strong desire in the industry to meet customers' fast turnaround demands. Seeing a need to service that market drove Howard Davies and wife, Amy Sterling to begin operating in 1982. DOT Thermography is and always has been a family owned and operated business. Howard and Amy began this business with the knowledge learned from experience in the printing industry as well as formal printing education. Amy learned the intricacies of the printing business first hand at her parents' printshop, which frequently purchased thermography from mail-order companies. With this perspective and understanding of the business and customers’ needs, DOT Thermography was created to meet the specific needs of you and your customers.

With no existing customer base, and no "Corporate Umbrella" to give them leads, Amy and Howard, with the help of Amy's father, Lee Sterling, started making cold calls. At this time DOT had one press operator, a typesetter, one thermography line, 5 standard ink colors and two products, business cards and announcements. Within the first month, seeing that the need was there, DOT hired couriers to service their growing customer base with pickup and delivery service. By the end of the first year, DOT had grown to 5 employees and 2 presses.

DOT 2008
After almost 3 decades, DOT remains a family owned and operated business, where almost 50% of the employees have been with DOT for over 15 years. With seven presses, including one 4-color, and five thermography lines, DOT prints 25 million business cards per year, in addition to letterheads, envelopes, rolodex® cards, announcements and all sorts of specialty thermography jobs. Offering 14 standard ink colors, 4-color process printing in flat and thermography, a multitude of stocks, laser safe thermography, and foil stamping makes DOT the only choice for many customers in the DFW area, as well as nationwide. Retail and commercial printers, print brokers, forms distributors, ad agencies and graphic artists all find that DOT has a product that meets their printing needs and personnel that give them the personal service they deserve.  Dedication to quality and customer service is one reason ninety-five percent of our business is through referrals from current customers.
